What is an NFA account?

NFA is shorthand from the account trade, not a term Valve uses, and it is read two ways. The older and more common reading is non-family-shared: the account is not part of anyone's Steam Family, so nobody else's library, parental controls or family rules reach it. The second reading, common in shops, is non-full-access: the seller hands over a way to sign in, but not the email address the account is registered to.

Most listings mean both at once, and so does this store. It is worth asking a seller which one they mean, because the two readings answer different questions. The first is about who else is attached to the account; the second is about what you can change on it after you buy.

FA means full access. An FA account comes with its email, so the buyer can change the password, move the email and take full control. An NFA account in the second sense does not: you sign in with what was delivered, and the email stays with the account as it was.

Without the email, an NFA account usually costs less than an FA one, and the risk changes too: on an account whose email you do not hold, whoever does hold it can start a recovery. That is why the warranty window matters more on an NFA account. If controlling the email matters for what you want to do, an NFA account is the wrong purchase, and it is better to ask support before ordering than after.

Steam Families is the feature's current name: Valve's help page says it replaced both Steam Family Sharing and Family View. It describes a family of up to six members who can play the shareable games in one another's libraries, where an adult can set parental controls for a child, remove any member, and recover a child member's account once it has been in the family for 30 days.

Those rules are why buyers ask for NFA. An account that sits in someone else's family is still tied to it: an adult there could remove it or, if it joined as a child, recover it. Valve also warns that cheating or fraud through a shared library can cost the owner their family privileges and bring a VAC ban. And Counter-Strike 2 is free to play, which Valve lists, with the DLC bought for such games, among what Steam Families does not share, so the CS2 you play on an account is that account's own.

A Steam ID and a login token, shown on your order page once the payment is confirmed. You sign in with the token rather than with a password sent by email, and the page keeps both, so there is no inbox to wait on. Where the order page gives a licence key, the KeyScope Loader for Windows uses it to start Steam and sign in for you.

Each product page says what is already on the account: Prime Status, Premier unlocked, a placed rating, service medals, skins, or a knife or gloves. The Prime account is the base line, and the Premier ready account adds Premier unlocked with no rating placed yet.

Not through this store. What is handed over is a login token, not access to the mailbox, so treat the account as tied to the credentials you received. Changing the email, or recovering the password through it, needs that mailbox, and on an NFA account the mailbox is not part of the sale. If you need it, an NFA account is not the right purchase.

Every order carries a warranty window. The first six hours are included, and at checkout you can pay for a longer one, up to 72 hours. It covers an account that fails to log in or is reclaimed inside that window. A failed account is replaced when one is in stock; on an order placed while signed in, what you paid for that item can go onto your store balance instead.

It does not cover a ban earned after handover, and the store does not refund: a balance pays for later orders and cannot be withdrawn. The refund policy sets this out in full.

No. Smurf describes how an account is used, usually as a second account beside a main one, while NFA describes how the account stands. An NFA account can be used as a second account, and the Prime account, with nothing else on it, is the plainest one for that. Whatever it is used for, the account plays under the same rules as any other: Valve's matchmaking cooldowns and bans apply to it, and the buying guide covers what Steam's Subscriber Agreement says about bought accounts.
